Become A Witness
Becoming a witness for Faithful Signings Mobile Notary involves assisting in the notarization process by witnessing the signature of an individual signing a document. Here's what it looks like to act as a witness:
1. **Check Requirements:**
We verify that you meet the requirements to act as a witness. Generally, witnesses should be of legal age and not related to or have a financial interest in the document being notarized.
2. **Bring Identification:**
Ensure you have valid and unexpired identification with you, as we will need to verify your identity as well.
3. **Be Present During Signing:**
We will be meeting at a designated meeting place. Both you and the signer must be present during the entire notarization process.
4. **Witness the Signature:**
As a witness, you will observe the individual signing the document. Ensure that the signature is done willingly and without coercion.
5. **Provide Your Information:**
We may ask you to provide your name, address, and other identifying information for their records. Be prepared to share this information if required.
6. **Take the Oath/Affirmation:**
In some cases, we may administer an oath or affirmation to the signer and the witness. This is a formal declaration of the truthfulness of the document.
7. **Notary Completes Notarization:**
We will then complete the notarization process by affixing their seal and signature to the document, indicating that they have verified the identity of the signer and witnessed the signing.
